Dr Dan Dumitrascu-Biris a lucrat ca medic specialist in Clinica de Medicina Materno – Fetala din cadrul Spitalului Universitar King’s College Hospital, London.
A absolvit Facultatea de Medicina din Timisoara, iar rezidentiatul in obstetrica si ginecologie l-a inceput in Timisoara cu stagii de pregatire in Romania si Irlanda.
Din anul 2013, dupa absolvirea examenului specialitate, si-a inceput activitatea la Londra, urmand o supraspecializare de peste 2 ani in medicina fetala, la Harris Birthright Unit, King’s College Hospital London, Fetal Medicine Center precum si University College London. In aceste departamente de medicina fetala sunt revizuite cazuri cu risc crescut, anomalii fetale si gravide cu patologii asociate.
Dupa aproape doi ani si jumatate in care a lucrat alaturi de Profesorul Nicolaides (unul dintre cei mai cunoscuti specialisti in medicina fetala din lume), a obtinut “Diploma in Medicina Fetala” care atesta experienta acumulata in screening-ul de prim trimestru, ecografia de trimestru doi, cervicometrie, ecografie a starii de bine fetal, teste invasive (biopsie de vilozitati coriale, amniocenteza, cordocenteza etc), managementul sarcinilor gemelare monocoriale si terapia laser, transfuzii sanguine in sarcinile cu izoimunizare Rh sau alte anemii fetale, embrioreductii sarcini multiple si alte proceduri terapeutice fetale.
Ulterior a continuat supraspecializarea in unitatea de Medicina Materno – Fetala din cadrul Spitalului Universitar King’s College London, cel mai mare spital din Sudul Londrei cu peste 5000 de nasteri anuale. Acest department urmareste gravidele cu risc crescut cu mar fi: hipertensiunea arteriala si complicatiile ei, diabet zaharat, boli hematologice si autoimmune, boli renale. Timp de doi ani a fost coordonatorul Clinicii de Prematuritate, clinica in care erau revizuite gravidele cu risc crescut de a naste prematur (istoric de nastere prematura, interventii chirurgicale la nivelul colului uterin, etc); de asemenea a fost numit ca si responsabil cu implementarea la nivel local a ghidurilor clinice nationale.
Incepenand cu anul 2020 a fost numit Consultant in Obstetrica si Medicina Fetala, titlul medical cel mai inalt din sistemul de sanatate britanic.
Partea clinica a fost completata de o continua activitate academica si de cercetare, doctorul Dan Dumitrascu-Biris publicand mai multe articole in reviste cotate international. A participat ca speaker la o serie de congrese mondiale si nationale alaturi de specialisti în medicina materno-fetala.
Arii de interes medical: sarcina complicata (hipertensiune arteriala, diabet zaharat, boli renale sau autoimune), interventii chirurgicale fetale (sarcini monocoriale complicate, diferite anomalii fetale unde interventia chirurgicala este recomandata), nasterea prematura.
